A gorgeous deep red transparent gemmy single terminated elbaite crystal measuring 5.5 x 2.0 x 1.2 cm in size. Complete all around as seen in the photos. With a 10x loupe I can find what appears to be a slight chip on the back side of the termination edge; this appears that it could be natural however. To the naked eye the crystal is perfect. A beautiful gem crystal specimen! Ex Lloyd Tate collection.

Beautiful pale soft pink transparent prismatic cluster of two double terminated elbaite crystals measuring 5.5 x 2.7 x 1.6 cm in size overall. Complete all around. The only chipping that I can find is on the base termination, only seen with my 10x loupe, on one edge. To the naked eye this is in perfect condition. The color is quite pleasing making for a very pretty specimen. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.

Within this quartz are tiny brilliant green crystals of micro epidote and platy metallic micro crystals of hematite. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Undamaged and sharp from the front. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Ref: Rocks & Minerals: 80(1), 46-57; Mineral News 25(4), 1-11 & 14.

There are dark translucent lustrous crystals of smoky quartz measuring to 1.0 cm present as well. The back of the matrix has been trimmed and shaped (to appear natural) nicely with a saw, typical of many Chinese specimens. This is not visible when the piece is displayed properly.
